Hello - My name's Paul and I'm excited for the opportunity in the Cardano space.
I grew up in Halifax, NS, Canada. I went to school for accounting there, have been working for Citco since I graduated. Recently I have moved to Espanola ON, Canada - I am still working remotely for Citco, however after 7+ years in the hedge fund administration space I am now looking for a change - to work remotely in an industry I am more passionate in.
I am a very logical, numbers driven individual, and I really enjoy 'systems', whatever the system might be. That's what drew me to the debit/credit accounting system initially.
Last year I exposed myself to crypto currencies for the first time - and found my way to Cardano. I am very drawn to the values of Cardano, and the scientific method it is built on.
While I have not had any formal computer science training (advanced excel formulas is as far as I go currently) I would like to pivot my career into this space, and am taking initial steps to learn Haskell and fundamental coding skills I currently lack.
I am very passionate for the mission of Cardano, and the opportunity to work within the Cardano ecosystem - in any capacity - excites me greatly. I would love to dedicate myself to this as a career. That will continue to motivate my self learning in the meantime.

Work Experience
- Responsible for cash/position reconciliations and monthly signoff for the financial reporting.
- Accustom to analyzing large data sets to find problems/conclusions/path forward.
- Effectively communicated internally/externally, verbal/written – I built lasting client relationships here.
- GL Automation project – established best practice booking types, assisted IT with tool development.
- Other Process Improvements – Rec stats & communication, trade kickouts, alternate rec types.
- Heavy use of MS Excel & Outlook, in addition to our own system AExeo. Light use of MS Access.
- Frequently coached others & did the performance reviews/meetings with staff.
- Worked with auditors annually regarding the cash/positions – no audit issues.
- Allocated revenues and expenses for the region. Month-end adjusting entries & reconciliations
- Performed variance analysis on internal monthly statements
- Prepared customized financial reports for governments, several other external organizations
